About OVLXI
The vision behind the camera
A lot of meaningful work happens without an audience.
Not because they don't matter. But because they happen away from the spotlight.
This is the work that built our communities.
I've seen it first-hand.
A volunteer opening the mosque before Fajr. A teacher staying behind after class. An entrepreneur refusing to compromise his values. An organisation serving its community for years without asking to be seen.
There is a lot of dedication within our communities that never becomes visible online.
OVLXI was created to document what already exists.
My journey in media started with a Master's degree in Journalism and an academic background in Sociology. Later, I worked in international editorial environments and spent years working on the ground with social projects and associations in Belgium.
That experience taught me how to look at stories from both sides.
How they are made.
And how they are received.
I also saw how quickly meaningful work can lose its character when it is forced into the language of online marketing.
Everything has to be faster. Louder. More clickable.
But not everything needs to be. Sometimes you need to sit down with someone, listen to them and let the camera run.
That is where OVLXI comes from.
A silent witness.
It is about your work, your people and your intentions.
